We had a very roadtrippy day yesterday,I know, hasn't every day been "roadtrippy"? Well, yes. But yesterday we saw a lot of roadside, pull over to take pictures, type of attractions!
After we woke up and checked out (using our TV!) we packed our things into the fantastically reorganized car and headed to see the Gateway Arch.
We wanted to get out of the car for a picture but we were having some difficulty navigating around the construction surrounding it. That's okay though, we still saw it and it was NEATO. The bridge was closed so we had to take an alternate route which made our GPS think we were driving through water.

We stopped for some lunch and came across this car that is definitely worth sharing:
"It means no worries", and they clearly have none. We had a good laugh about this one!
From here we were en route to Vandalia, IL to see the Kaskaskia Dragon (he breathes fire!) We brought Lucky out for this one.
Oh yeah, it was cold!
The Kaskaskia Dragon is AWESOME. We have been planning on going to see him since we started planning our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. It was pretty cold out, as you can tell from our winter coats, but we barely noticed. The people were so nice too. The owner of the liquor store came out to give us tokens because he thought we didn't have them. PSHHHHH, we called and had some sent to us months ago! He let us keep them anyway, which was so nice. Also, a gentleman stopped in his truck to offer to take a family picture for us. Thank you, kind stranger! It is definitely worth a detour if you are in the area.
Next we were Columbus bound when we came across some pretty awesome roadside attractions! Indiana is full of wonder. First up was the worlds largest wind chime.
It's big!
Right across the street was the worlds largest rocking chair. We were thinking, let's get a picture of us sitting in it, right? Not without a very large ladder. Dude was BIIIIIG.
We tried....!
Next up, world's largest golf tee. It is located at a country club but we thought it would be funnier at a mini-golf course, just saying.
Wonder where the golf club for this is?
Seeing the "worlds largest" things inspired us to see if there were any other roadside attractions on our route. There were a couple slightly out of the way, but we just had to see. Gravity Hill was our next stop. If you go to the bottom of this hill on a dark back road and put your car in neutral, it pulls you UP the hill. We were skeptical, to say the least, but it worked though! We tried it three times with variations and we were pulled steadily up the hill every time. Very odd!
Next up was the grave of Nancy Barnett. The town was working on a new road which went through a cemetery and her family didn't want her grave to be disturbed so they built the road AROUND her grave. Literally, a mound with a corpse inside in the middle of the road.
This sign used to have a cross inside of that black spot, but it has been changed.
Yep. Just RIGHT THERE.

This is super creepy because it was a dark and quite desolate and the road is very narrow. Did I mention the dark? Have to admit, it was very cool.
We stopped for some sandwiches after this and were on our way!!!
Lucky has been such a good sport about the long drives. Our Sunday plans are the Big Mac Museum, taking Lucky to Pat's mom and Doug's, getting back home, pizza, and The Walking Dead!
