A Holiday Riddle

How do the Casales manage to go into a store, pick out a kickass Christmas gift for someone, purchase it, leave the store with it, yet they can still say they stole it?

Answer? They fell for a genius scam.

Story.

So we were at the mall Friday night picking up a few things (of course once we got there we were smacked in the face by the realization that it was FRIDAY night at the mall....)

We had some food court dinner, picked up some things and on our way out were stopped by a teenage boy and his mother. She was shopping and told him not to bother us but he went forward with his sales pitch. He had this awesome little gadget that we thought would be the *perfect* gift for someone. For the sake of Christmas present surprises we can't say who it is for or what it is. BUT, the story is enough.

So he shows us it's capabilities and tells us it is twenty bucks. We thought that was a good deal but RARELY carry cash anymore, and this kid was not accepting debit, so of course we were a dollar short and had to say we would catch him later.  So we walk away talking about how much someone we know would love it and realize there was another dollar in the car. WHAT LUCK! So we grab it and go back in. The kid was talking to another customer so we waited then approached him.

He told us how to set it up and the transaction was over. We were happy. After a few minutes, one of us said "what if he just picked that up off a shelf and sold it to us...?" And laughed because that is just silly. When we got back to the car we googled it and sure enough the exact product (it is not a normal thing you see in all stores) is from the store. Well shit. We spent the next five minutes laughing at how genius that was, how hilarious it is that we always find ourselves in strange situations, and wondering how we didn't realize.

At least we didn't get stopped by security, that would have been interesting to explain!

You're welcome, ___________.

Stay legal, y'all.

Love,
The Casales
xoxo
