Double Stuffed Oreo

Happy weekend! If you read our post earlier this week, you know that we had a pretty set plan of action for the rescue of wee little Oreo. If you've read our blog all along, you know that we change our plans to go with the flow!

I should probably start off by saying that going with said flow does not mean entirely abandoning the rescue mission. It does, however mean we won't be taking the trip to Detroit. Long story short, Oreo's new momma has two other cats. She was super excited for them to have a new brother bear, but they both had unexpected things come up in their vet wellness checkups and while we are SUPER happy that they will be okay, she just couldn't take on another fur child at this time.

That being said, we have come so far and Pat and I, along with our rescue friends involved, were not letting this little one go. SO. Becky, our friend in Orlando happened to be flying up our way so we cancelled the transport, bought Mr. Oreo a kitten sized trench coat and hat, and booked Mr. Oreo  his very own plane ticket. Well, everything but the trench coat but that would be FLIPPING (R💗) adorable!

Becky flew little double stuffed to Harrisburg and we met her and her fam at the airport for the exchange. Well, this little cutie is just a lovable little ball of energy who is desperate for love and STOKED, like we have never seen a cat be stoked before, about having space outside a cage/crate/carrier to run around and play in. He has literally spent his entire short life behind bars and it breaks our hearts. It also makes us excited to be his new foster family though!  He still needs to be quarantined as he finishes out the last leg of his medication (he had a little case of ringworm and an upper respiratory infection) so we need to be careful, use gloves, wash hands, yada yada yada. He has an appointment to see out vet on Wednesday and we are pretty confident he is going to get the okay to be cleared of both issues (we did the black light test and he checked out!)

Needless to say, there is no Michigan trip for us this weekend but that kind of works out since it is our ANNIVERSARY on Sunday and we are also doing a bridal show. So many exciting things. Oh and lastly, our building manager asked us to find her friend's cat a home. Supposedly he got annoyed by the cat and threw him OUTSIDE!!!! What the eff kind of person does that? Shit people. That's who. So we talked her into taking him for now and he is on our list of kitties to find homes for as well. Pictures to come! Here is a video of Oreo.
